Physicians
Our five vitreoretinal specialists are board-certified through the American Board of Ophthalmology. John C. Olson, MD completed his retinal fellowship at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. He has extensive clinical and surgical experience and has served as principal investor on many national clinical trials. Karl E. Waite, MD received his medical degree from the University of South Florida College of Medicine. He completed his residency at Nassau University Medical Center followed by a retinal fellowship at the Retina Institute of Hawaii. Gokul N. Kumar, MD received his MD and MBA from the University of Illinois in Chicago. He complete his ophthalmology residency at Washington University and retinal fellowship at Emory University. Eric G. Feinstein, MD completed medical school at the University of Virginia. He completed his ophthalmology residency at Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary followed by retinal fellowship at the University of Colorado. Farhad Safi, MD joined CFR in May 2022. He received his MD from the George Washington University. He completed his ophthalmology residency training at Walter Reed Army Medical Center followed by a surgical retina fellowship at the University of Pittsburg Medical Eye and Ear Institute. He is also currently serving as Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army, Medical Corp.
